Established international schools include the European School, the International School (ISL), the British St George’s School (for children aged 2 to 11), the French Ecole maternelle et primaire française (from the age of 3) and the French Lycée Vauban (from 12 to 18). The ISL offers an English-language education for students aged 3 to 18 years. Its student population includes 40 nationalities. It awards the ISL High School Diploma and/or the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which is a renowned qualification for universities worldwide.
The international baccalaureate is also offered by the Athénée de Luxembourg in its program especially designed for English-speaking students who are living in Luxembourg.
The recently established University of Luxembourg includes the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication, the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance and the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Educational Science.
In addition to the University of Luxembourg, other opportunities for higher learning are offered by the Sacred Heart University (MBA and Graduate Professional Certificates), which has been named "one of the best colleges of business" by the Princeton Review in 2007 and the Miami University of Ohio which has a European campus, situated in Luxembourg at the very beautiful Differdange castle.
